2009 Event:
Themed Table Luncheon supports Moms breaking the cycle of poverty.
Decorated tables and inspiring stories of women overcoming the odds were on the menu for the 8th Annual Women AIM High Luncheon. Women of all ages gathered at the Boulevard Baptist Church Christian Activity Center on Thursday, September 24th, 2009 for lunch and testimonies from participants in AIM’s Women & Children Succeeding Program.

This year the event added a new twist by allowing table sponsors to decorate their own table related to the events them of “The Substance of a Woman”. Individuals & groups alike sponsored tables and invited guests to hear these powerful stories.
The Women & Children Succeeding Program began 16 years ago and is AIM's most innovative and successful program. Women and Children Succeeding (WACS), gives parents and disadvantaged children the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and become independent, self-sufficient, and successful. WACS removes the barriers that prevent families from taking advantage of available resources and allows the parent to return to school. The number one barrier for parents is the lack of childcare. The WACS program helps participants obtain quality childcare and provides supportive services like lifeskills training, parenting classes and mentoring.
A children’s chair auction was also be held at this year’s event. The chair auction component began through the efforts of Anderson University faculty and staff in 2008 and represents “lifting children up out of poverty”. The children’s chairs were donated & painted by local artists and supporters of the program.

We are working on the dates for the 2010 events! Information to come soon...
