Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What are the requirements for Employment Pathways participation?
    • ​Actively receive SNAP benefits​​
    • Live in Anderson, Oconee, or Pickens County
    • Age 16+ and not attending high school
    • Motivated to obtain higher-paying employment through monthly participation​
  2. How long can I be enrolled in the program? This varies depending on the approved Pathway and Individualized Employment Plan created with the Career Coach.
  3. What are the two Employment Pathways?​
    • ​Certificate Pathway​​
    • Work Readiness Pathway
  4. If I am on the Certificate Pathway, what certifications can I pursue through the program? A variety of qualified certifications are available. All certifications must support your employment goals as determined by the Individualized Employment Plan AND be completed within 12 months. QuickJobs certifications are available through Tri-County Technical College. Other certifications may be available through the Village Career Center and other local providers.
  5. Can I enroll in the Certificate Pathways if I am currently in a certification program? No, individuals must enroll with Employment Pathways BEFORE classes begin to qualify for funding.
  6. Can I enroll in Employment Pathways if I am currently, or planning to enroll, with SC Works? Yes, you can enroll in both programs. Talk with your Career Coach for more details. 
  7. Does enrolling in Employment Pathways affect my SNAP benefits? No. This voluntary program does NOT affect SNAP benefits whether or not you choose to enroll.
  8. How do I enroll in Employment Pathways? Click on "Get Started' and fill out the interest form. An Employment Pathways Career Coach will contact you for an interview and enrollment appointment if eligibility criteria are met.
