How to Decorate Your Women AIM High Table

Have you ever been invited to an event--maybe even sponsored an event--and just not been impressed by it? How does it feel to be sitting in an empty room, trying to get excited about raising funds for a family in need? Not fun. However, when entering the Civic Center on October 29th and 30th, we think you will be wowed away at all of the unique designs created by businesses and friends for Women AIM High's table decorating contest.

The annual luncheon fundraiser supports AIM's Women and Children Succeeding program. Assisting with the costs of childcare, transportation, and household items, WACS supports low-income mothers who are seeking post-secondary education.

So, after you've secured your table of eight and purchased your Wine and Cheese Preview Party ticket for the night before, it's time to start planning your table decorations!

1. Find Inspiration. Look at the photo gallery above from previous years' competitors or search online for ideas. This year, we want to encourage people to decorate their tables after their favorite childhood book theme. How fun would it be to create your own tea party from Alice in Wonderland or the barn scene from Charlotte's Web? We will also be collecting children's book donations at the event in hopes to start a book club!

2. Gather Supplies. You'll need three main parts to be successful in this friendly competition: a table cloth for a 6 ft. round table, table decorations pertaining to your business or favorite children's book, and a team of eight to help you decorate on the 29th, dress up to match your table, and attend the luncheon on the 30th!

3. Helpful Hints. You may want to view the "Reserve a Table" document on our website for specific set-up times and information. This year, lunch will be served "family style," meaning it will be on the table. Please note: in previous years, it's been buffet style. We want your tables to be spectacular, but please leave room for your lunch! Last but not least, don't forget to have fun!!
